These terms apply to the Nihonian app and website, provided by Neuronic Technologies Private Limited (CIN U62099HR2024PTC121472), India. By using Nihonian you agree to them.

Using Nihonian

• You may use Nihonian for your own learning. Institutes may use it with their students under a separate agreement.
• Keep your sign-in secure. Don't share sign-in codes with anyone; we will never ask you for one.
• Don't misuse the service: no attempts to break, overload, copy or resell it, and no harmful or unlawful content in anything you submit.

Exam readiness is an estimate

Readiness ranges, word counts and other predictions are estimates based on your practice. They are not official results and do not guarantee any exam score, visa or job. Nihonian is not affiliated with the Japan Foundation, JEES or the JLPT organisers.

Nihonian Pro

Some features need a paid Pro subscription, bought through Google Play or the App Store. Prices are shown before you buy. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel in your store account; refunds follow the store's policy and applicable law.

Content and licences

The app, its design and our own lessons and example sentences belong to Neuronic Technologies Private Limited. Word lists are derived from the JMdict dictionary files of the Electronic Dictionary Research and Development Group and are shared under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 licence. Other third-party material is used under its own licence.

Your content

Sentences you write or record stay yours. You allow us to process them to give you feedback and run the service, as described in the privacy policy.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Nihonian available and accurate, but it is provided "as is". We may change or end features; if a change affects a paid feature you rely on, we'll tell you in advance. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Ending

You can stop using Nihonian and delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
